Experience real Karoo hospitality in the elegance and luxury of this Cape Dutch farmhouse which graces the magnificent Karoo landscape. Just 34km from Prince Albert on the way to the N1, the house was built for the Van der Bijl family in 1912 and is furnished with antiques. 

We offer three luxurious en suite rooms, four rooms sharing two bathrooms and one self-catering unit. All the bathrooms have underfloor heating.

Choose our self-catering or B&B option. Dinner is available on request and there are braai facilities. There is plenty of safe parking.

Abrahamskraal is a working farm. We offer hiking trails, bird watching and mountain biking. Take a sundowner trip to enjoy the spectacular sunsets and night skies. We can arrange a hot air balloon flight over the Karoo or a night drive to see Karoo creatures.

The village of Prince Albert is a short drive away. There you can visit the Art Galleries, Tannery, Weavery, Museum and Observatory, enjoy a guided historical or ghost walk.

Day trips could take you to the Swartberg Pass, Meiringspoort, the Cango Caves, Gamkaskloof - "The Hell" or  the Karoo National Park. 

Fossilised prehistoric lizard footprints can be seen on a nearby farm - bookings are essential.
