AMY’S
offers everything one would expect from traditional
Karoo
hospitality and comfort. Specially designed to cater for 6 guests, AMY’S
offers home-from-home comforts in spacious open-plan living, and large,
over-sized rooms. In typical Victorian-style architecture, the ceilings
are high: the corridors wide. The décor is an interesting mix of new,
antiques and customised furniture, and the lovely sash windows frame
beautiful views.
Enjoy
the freedom of space, the peace, and the tranquillity. And, because AMY’S
is let as a unit, enjoy her all to yourself!

AMY’S
is exceptionally well-equipped, thus ideal for lengthy stays. Electrical
appliances comprise a 4-plate stove with warmer; microwave;
fridge-freezer; dishwasher; and
washing machine. The holiday chef will find a Kenwood Chef mixer with
liquidiser and juice-extractor attachments; an electric hand beater to
whip up a quick omelette; an electric frying pan for one-pot cooking;
and an electric carving knife to do justice to the Sunday roast!

It
has been our experience that guests, choosing the self-catering option,
wish to do just that – self cater. Leading off the kitchen is a
separate scullery/laundry. In the broom cupboard will be found a vacuum
cleaner; broom; ironing board and iron; as well as a fire extinguisher
(just in case the oil boils over!). However, should you wish to have AMY’S
serviced during your stay, please request this at the time of booking. A
laundry service, for the convenience of guests, is provided during
weekdays.

AMY’S

The
full-length patio, with its magnificent views of the Swartberg Mountain
Range, is perfect for el fresco dining.
Early risers will enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the sun peeping over
the mountain tops, spreading her warm glow across the sky.
Unique
to AMY’S
is her backyard – in fact acres of backyard! Soak up the ambience of
the
Karoo
in this perfect setting for a traditional South African braai.
Spectacular
is the only word that adequately describes the 360 degree views from the
thatched gazebo: an amazing panorama stretching from the majestic
Swartberg
Mountains
to the Karoo Plains. This is a lovely vantage point from which to enjoy
the delightful vista of the
Prince Albert
houses so beautifully preserved, and the stunning church steeple proudly
rising above. Seating is provided at the gazebo for guests wishing to
tarry awhile, enjoying moments of quiet reflection (or simply sipping
sundowners while marvelling at the spectacular sunset).
Our
guests love a stroll of our unique 8 acre indigenous garden, much of
which has been left natural. Many plants have been labelled for the
added enjoyment of garden enthusiasts: and artists and photographers
will find much of interest to capture in their field. The Aloe
collection now exceeds 50 varieties, and there are numerous varieties of
Crassula, Cotyledon and Kalenchoes.
